OPD Police Auxiliary Unit The Oberlin Police Department is now accepting applications. Qualifications: 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, valid Ohio operators license, must be able to pass background investigation and perform police-related duties. Auxiliary officers will assist the Oberlin Police with routine duties and during emergency situations. Uniform and equipment provided. Starting rate of pay, $8.00 per hour. Applicants must be available for the Lorain County Sheriffs Office Auxiliary Training Program, January 27, 2009 through May 1, 2009. There may be some training on Saturdays. Applicants must agree to special training deemed necessary to comply with the minimum standards set by the Chief of Police. Applications must be picked up from, completed and returned to Oberlin City Hall @ 85 S. Main Street, Oberlin, no later than 5:00 p.m., 10/31/2008 . Further questions should be directed to Sgt.
